Madison County Signs Petition

As a New York State taxpayer, you'll be investing $300 million into an Oneida County hospital in the Utica area. Politicians are trying to force this investment into downtown, however Taxpayers, property and business owners fight back.

State investment does more for regional healthcare at St. Luke's and bulldozing downtown is foolish urban renewal. Rural residents deserve a stronger Utica healthcare system, that's best accomplished at Utica's St. Luke's Campus.

November 12, 2017 - Residents are angry, "Why can't we vote on this issue?", "Why must we pay for a private company's parking garage?", "How can this happen without a vote by those having to pay for it?", and "Taxpayers are supplying the $300M!" Also see all these other Comments.

These questions and statements seem fair. After all the Utica Mayor has said he'd close streets and provide city-owned property, but are these his decisions alone? What voice do taxpayers and residents have?
