Funds called "CDBG" monies are federal dollars that Utica receives as "Community Development Block Grant". In 2017 it was the 42nd year, Utica received this funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Money is provided annually for wide-ranging community programs. Groups within the community can then apply for grants addressing; housing, economic development and human services for "low and moderate income" residents.
