We are looking at this hospital. MVHS and their architects NBBJ have said its a template for Utica. Doesn't look anything like what's in Downtown Utica today: Lunder Building Anchors Mass General's Main Campus. Read the building's Fact Sheet (PDF)
Clocking in at 530,000 square feet in ten above ground, and four below ground floors, this is one of the features: "Individuals will be able to walk through [all] buildings from the “front” of the campus to the “back” without having to walk outside". So much for being part of a neighborhood! Boston is the location for 35 colleges, universities, and community colleges, with about 152,000 students [Ref.].
We are not sure this is an "Apples to oranges" comparison...
So @MGHMedicine in Boston https://t.co/2hkMoOSy2b is a template for @CityofUtica? Population 674K, 48 sq miles vs. Utica's 60K & 17 sq miles pic.twitter.com/mh7FcHA7cT

Boston's per capita income is $33,158, about twice as Utica per capita income of $17,897. The Boston economy
It is GREAT to dream, we encourage it, but there's a very hard thing called #Reality. The @CityofUtica economy is NOT that of @CityOfBoston pic.twitter.com/DeXLK0ahxX

The City of Utica has many things good and bad. Dealing with reality is a must. Highest sales tax, now we'd pay for a $43 million dollar parking garage for 30 years? Nope, their Utica Hospital Concept is not going downtown!
Read this to understand the hospitals of Boston, Mass. has too many hospitals for its own good. Utica needs good hospitals, or even a single good one, but placing it into downtown and kicking around private property owners is wrong.
Don't destroy Utica's Downtown Utica's Columbia Lafayette Neighborhood, there's 64 acres at St. Luke's on a green hilltop!
