It's believed that both political "efforts and motives" sought to bring $300M to the Oneida County region for healthcare. As the $300M In Funding materialized, it became a "new hospital", and then a "downtown" hospital. Some believe only political efforts can stop the bulldozing of downtown, thus we investigate.
We often feel, "all politics are local!" Yet, then again, here are the vast political realms in which some say #NoHospitalDowntown must consider as we try to save Downtown Utica...
Small town politics, just like the big city! Grab a seat, the power, and hang on! Maintain control as long as you can, directing wealth towards the “X”! You’re a rainmaker, life is good (for you and your team anyway)... pic.twitter.com/6r9tNIkCZy

Maybe I’m mistaken, but I can’t see a need for another hospital in the Utica area. With what Trump wants to do with Medicare and Medicaid the future of rural hospitals is in doubt so why build another failing healthcare facility?
— Russian Mole (@wiseguy161) April 18, 2018
First up, we fully realize, New York has more corrupt officials than any other state, but that will not deter us. We believe lawmakers made a terrible decision placing $300M into the hands of MVHS, but was this just politicians, or also lobbyist and those influencing the $300M Albany Grant.
It is said Governor Cuomo will seek the presidency. His party traditionally derives their voting base from cities, and not the countryside, and this graphic confirms Cuomo's NYS Base. Is this partally the rationale for targeting large funds into Upstate cities, #DRI / Downtown Revitalization Initiatives? Either way, we know that Albany holds a large sway over politicians and their actions all around the state....

This means New York's 22nd congressional district, plus they'd need a federal permit for a Helistop, and perhaps additional federal funding too!
We simply wish to place any new hospital at the approved St. Luke's site, and prevent downtown businesses, streets & alleys from being erased. If you doubt tribalism governs their psychology, just observe @newmvhospital, @UticaYes, and the @MVHealthSystem statements and events that focus on where people stand rather than where the facts stand--where public opinion is rather than where the hospital should be.

Mike Galime is the only elected official standing up to the corruption. If you want to know if there’s been undue influence, FOIL his communications regarding the hospital. It’s your right!

Politics is emotional, we also know the two party systems is too corrupt in Oneida County. Here we have the "Oneida County Family & Friends Party", the OCFFP allows a few well-off to control community boards, the heads of top companies are either in on it, or stay silent as they're pleased with the corporate welfare and comfortable second and third homes in the Adirondacks, South Carolina, and Florida. Locally they can't fix the real and larger NYS economy, so they've created ways to make the best of it for themselves.
The downtown hospital scam is one where they reached too far, let's hope it is finally their undoing.
I’ll be calling in to @_talkfm shortly to discuss Claudia Tenney’s recent ill-informed comments on the Utica hospital project.

We want to protect downtown businesses and property owners, as well as downtown's development process, and support healthcare improvements. As we do, we are watching the political scene and support leaders that are against the downtown hospital concept. Just build it at St. Luke's!
