In 2015 a large group around the Mohawk Valley worked on plans to revitalize various communities. Here in Utica, the media said our Mohawk Valley group was competing in what was dubbed the hunger games of economic development.
As you'll see below, 207 people signed-on, and or worked on that plan. We've investigate the MV500 Application. It's a plan that called for this Bulldozing A Huge Part Of Downtown Utica, An Entire Neighborhood! Their plan had an almost hidden rendering of a Downtown Utica Hospital Concept. Again we say, "Not so Fast!" Utica cannot afford to bulldoze 1/4 of its Central Business District, nor can our small city financially support or do we Require A 5th Hospital District.
Our region did not win the $500 million, so the hospital plan stalled, great! But how many of these people truly wished to bulldoze downtown Utica? Do they still feel this way? For now #NoHospitalDowntown has to assume they all did. However, as they come forward to refute this, we will immediately update this page to reflect that...
