The Tenney - Brindisi Rift

We are not a political group, but #NoHospitalDowntown had to work hard to understand politics. Why? Becuase it was politicians who created the Downtown Utica Hospital Concept, but they wanted to tell a different story.

We've been told the Utica Observer-Dispatch is pro downtown hospital, and today they ignore Assemblyman Brindisi's bad behavior, revealing their poor judgement of character, read the newspaper's OUR VIEW: Latest Tenney attack another cheap shot

Our group began to opposed a secret concept to enact destructive urban renewal. An attempt by a small group to bulldoze downtown buildings and businesses, and to Derail A $300M Healthcare Transformation Grant. In doing so, and in three years of research, we've discovered a great deal of Hospital Politics.

UticaOD: Tenney-Brindisi Rift

September 21, 2018 - Utica newspaper states, "Anthony Brindisi, a man whose character is defined by honor, integrity and respectability."

September 21, 2018 - Brett Truett, Co-founder of #NoHospitalDowntown writes in a Post Today...

When my attention was called to the hospital battle by Jim Brock three years ago, mind you, the current Congressional race wasn’t even an issue. The first media piece I saw and heard was the heated argument Jim was having with Mr. Brindisi on Keeler.

Then the three of us sat in person at his state office building, then myself and Mr. Brindisi, and then Donna Beckett and some other ladies meet with Mr. Brindisi.

We got nowhere, “too early” to answer questions, etc., etc. The point is, politicians were where we had to go, to see what was going on, try to get answers, and try to take part in the debate - it wasn’t with medical or healthcare professionals.

In these early weeks and months of our battle we sought information and discussions, little did we know at the very same time Mr. Brindisi was using his private law firm business email to discuss the hospital with economic development contacts. Point of interest, others state officials have since been charged with crimes for using private email. Another note, someone on the law firm staff (See calogeroc@assembly.state.ny.us and ccalogero@bmbplawyers.com in #emailgate) was also using a Brindisi Law Firm and an official State Assembly email address to discuss hospital matters (i.e. placement of hospital into downtown).

We now know from these emails (see #emailgate), folks in our group we’re being called names and plans to thwart us and public input we’re discussed.

Another Telling Brindisi View: Heath Phillips

Democrats almost had another option, Heath Phillips, for the NY22 race, but according to Mr. Phillips, Brindisi took early aim to derail his participation.

September 21, 2018 - Brett Truett responds to UticaOD Facebook post on their Opinion Page, Our View...

"This newspaper seems to have found a politician that aligns with their politics. However they’re a bad judge of character. I’ve opposed the hospital that Mr. Brindisi has pushed into downtown and where he has; called me an idiot, worked to thwart public opinion and debate, used private email to discuss state economic development (and allowed private law firm staff to do the same). Brindisi side of the argument has smashed a downtown window at the “#NoHospitalDowntown building”, which my family owns, they’ve dented my car door and slashed two tires (one evening between 4 and 9PM). One told me to my face they were going to “hire a hit man”. Most Uticans cannot afford the results of their “free money hospital”, yet Brindisi bemoans our cartoon depictions of his characteracterized behaviors, and tries to paint us as bad guys? Again this newspaper is a very bad judge of character."
